One of the better dining experiences on my most recent vacation to Walt Disney World was at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at Sanaa. Sanaa is located on the ground floor of the Kidani Village section of the resort and offers an Africa/Indian fusion cuisine that has some great flavors. The restaurant is well themed and there are some great viewing areas from restaurant tables. A Window view will allow you to see dozens of animals grazing on the savannah.
The restaurant is known for its appetizer and Indian style bread service. A large platter of oven cooked flat bread is brought to your table with an assortment of sauces that range from mild to spicy. The flavor of the sauces are unique. You can choose three or all of the following types: Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Tomato-date Jam, Garlic Pickle, Spicy Jalapeno-lime pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus and Tamarind Chutney. It’s a great way to start out a meal.
As for the rest of the menu you can find Lamb Shank, Grilled New York Strip, Sustainable Catch, a few types of chicken and a South African inspired protein plate called Braaivleis. The Braaivleis is served with Boerewor sausage, Lamb Chop, Port Tenderloin, and seasonal accompaniments or vegetables. The meal was great. I enjoyed the Braaivleis dish and the dessert a great way to end the meal. The dessert menu offers a sampler trio or individual servings of Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse, Banana Cheesecake, and seasonal Kulfi.
