One of the newest, and hardest to get into, restaurants in the Magic Kingdom is the Be Our Guest Restaurant. The theming is from Beast’s Castle in the movie Beauty and the Beast and it's amazing.
Having just been built in 2012, I was able to finally get dinner reservations on my last vacation to Walt Disney World in June of 2015. The secret is waking up early when your 180 days is out and book the Be Our Guest Restaurant towards the end of your stay. The restaurant has a quick service for lunch and a table service for dinner.
The overall attention to detail in every nook of the restaurant is pretty impressive. There is a character meet and greet for guests as they finish their meals. Beast greets guest in each ballroom at timed intervals throughout your diner reminding families to meet him in the Meet and Greet area for pictures.
The dinner menu is pretty good. There are menu items such as Grilled Strip Steak, Herb Crusted Lamb, Pan-Seared Chicken Breast. There’s also pork, seafood, and ratatouille. Every time I go to a Disney Restaurant I turn into a steak connoisseur and this time was no different. I went with the Grilled Strip Steak served with Garlic Herb Butter and Pommes Frites. Pomes Frites is a European way of saying French Fries. The steak was good and the Pommes Frites are served with Mayo. I’m not sure how I feel about French Fries and Mayo, but overall the meal was filling. Below is a screenshot of the dinner menu.
For the dessert round at dinner, a cart is brought out to each table with all of the options laid out behind a glass window. They have about 7 desserts to choose from including the ‘Grey Stuff,’ Chocolate Crème Puff, and Éclair. I went with the Chocolate Crème Puff and it was a nice way to top off to good service and a good meal.
