Star Wars Rebels at SDCC 2014: Highlights

Even though we didn't get any Star Wars Episode VII news at San Diego Comic-Con, Disney and Lucasfilm shared with us fans a TON of STAR WARS REBELS news. We wanted to compile all of that news in one place and give you a healthy STAR WARS REBELS recap at SDCC 2014.

For anyone just jumping on the bandwagon, STAR WARS REBELS is an exciting, all-new animated TV series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time: STAR WARS. It is scheduled to premiere in October 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on DISNEY CHANNEL, and will be followed by a series on DISNEY XD channels worldwide. I personally cannot WAIT for this show. Here is the preview released simultaneously with the STAR WARS REBELS panel at SDCC 2014:

There were 3 additonal SDCC-exclusive clips played at the Star Wars Rebels Panel. The first is entitled "A Look Ahead."

The second trailer features The Inquisitor (Star Wars Rebel's Darth Vader-like character voiced by Jason Isaacs) facing off against Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze, Jr.).

Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray) and Zeb Orrelios (Steve Blum) make a daring escape in the 3rd and final SDCC Exclusive Trailer:

Exciting, right?? Well, if you happened to be in the STAR WARS REBELS panel at SDCC, you were able to see the entire cast of Star Wars Rebels. All the main people were present, including Executive Producers Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg, as well as voice actors Freddie Prinze, Jr., Vanessa Marshall (voice of Hera Syndulla), Steve Blum, Taylor Gray and Tiya Sircar (Sabine Wren). The panel was hosted by David W. Collins. (You can hear David Collins on Episode 39 of Skywalking Through Neverland, discussing Film Music and John Williams)

Are you ready to watch the STAR WARS REBELS panel at San Diego Comic-Con? Well, here it is! Thank you to Star Wars Underworld for providing this footage.

Vanessa Marshall, voice of Hera, is a HUGE fangirl. Out of the entire STAR WARS REBELS cast, she is the biggest Star Wars fan. She is extremely nice and very active on Twitter (@vanmarshall). In fact, it was through Twitter that I was able to meet up with her at Disneyland last Sunday! So for all the fangirls out there, we did a #fangirlflail for you:

If you ever meet Vanessa Marshall, she is usually up for a #fangirlflail any time!
