New 14 Story Tower planned for the Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort

We've recently heard rumors of a structure being built on the footprint of the old Swan & Dolphin tennis court area, leading some to think that it could be a resort hotel.  These rumors are now confirmed to be true.

Tishman real estate firm and Metlife Investment Management, who are the owners of the Swan and Dolphin hotels, announced they have entered an agreement with Disney to build a 14-story, 349-room tower on the current site of the Swan hotel's tennis courts. The  hotel project is expected to break ground this fall and open in 2020.
