Jambo from Animal Kingdom Lodge

Jambo from Animal Kingdom Lodge

Animal Kingdom lodge is one of Walt Disney World’s deluxe hotels and is divided between the Kidani Village and Jambo House sections. Guest at Animal Kingdom Lodge get to choose between Views of a great pool or African Safari with real wildlife eating from trees and grazing in their view.

The Hotel was designed by Peter Dominick whose company, Urban Design also created plans for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Rooms run around 300 dollars per night on the Disneyworld.com website. DVC-rooms are also available. Bus transportation is provided to guest to all of the Disney Parks.

Once entering the Hotel, guest are greeted with a grand lobby area three stories high with African art and décor. The check-in is to the left. There are fire pits with chairs in the Lobby as well as a huge window where you can view the animals and savannah.

Restaurants are located on the first floor. Boma, Jiko, and The Mara provide hotel guest with cuisine native to Africa and India. Boma and Jiko are the table service restaurants and Mara is a quick service option. The Mara is not a large quick service area. It is quite smaller compared to food courts in moderate hotels or value resorts. The other section of Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village also has a table service restaurant with Indian fusion cuisine called Sanaa.
