If you are a fan of the video game / virtual reality center DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney, you are not going to be happy. The five-story icon of the West Side area of Downtown Disney is shutting it's doors to make way for a NBA attraction.
DisneyQuest opened in 1998 and was marketed as a virtual reality theme park for Disney gamers. When the attraction opened it blew away guests with it's new and innovative rides and attractions. Since then, technology has advanced and DisneyQuest has had problems staying ahead of the curve.
DisneyQuest would probably be a viable attraction for the Downtown Disney area but with the technology aging and a high pricepoint, one-day tickets cost $47.93 for adults & $41.54 for children, many visitors are passing it up.
The NBA Experience at Downtown Disney will include high-tech experiences, a restaurant and a store.
