A new Downtown Disney eatery called Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar is set to open on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The aviation-themed lounge is named after a pilot character in the 1981 Indiana Jones film "Raiders of the Lost Ark." It's part of Downtown Disney's renovation, which eventually will change the entertainment complex's name to Disney Springs.
The Hangar Bar is in the Landing area of Disney Springs, which basically covers the footprint of the former Pleasure Island. The new establishment is located between two restaurants -- the Boathouse, which opened this spring, and Paradiso 37 -- and faces Lake Buena Vista.
Among the Hangar Bar menu items, Disney says, will be Dr. Elsa’s She-Deviled Eggs; goat cheese-stuffed dates with Marcona almonds and pickled veggies; salads and dips served with injera (bread) and naan crisps; Tanis Tacos (falafel, shredded lettuce and cucumber-tomato salad) and pretzels with house-made mustard and beer-cheese fondue.
Another Disney restaurant will be debuting nearby the following week. Morimoto Asia is set to open in the old Mannequins structure on Sept. 30.
