In recent years, Disney guests have had to become "Master Disney Planners" to fit E-Ticket attractions into their Disney trips. Disney is working on making that a little easier with expansions to Toy Story and Soarin.
Disney has always been at the forefront when it comes to thinking outside of the box, so when they announced the interactive queue experiments of recent years it was not surprising. It's a way to wait in line without feeling like you are waiting in line, but let's be honest, that can only work for so long.
Disney is targeting two large attractions for upcoming upgrades that should aid in reducing wait times. Toy Story Mania and Soarin are known to have ridiculous wait times and really can pose problems if you are not a seasoned Disney planner. With Disney Hollywood Studios losing many rides due to future lands/upgrades and Epcot losing Maelstrom, Toy Story Mania and Soarin wait times could balloon even more.
Soundstage 1 at the Disney Studios is being fitted with a third track for the Toy Story Midway Mania attraction, while Soarin is getting a third ride bay.
While Disney did not state the specifics of the ride expansions, they did note that they would be completed by late 2016.
