Disney Springs ramp from Interstate 4 opens

Central Florida motorists heading to Disney Springs have a new option. A ramp that leads from westbound Interstate 4 directly into the complex's parking garage opened Friday.

The additional roadway is part of the infrastructure improvements that came with the expansion (and renaming) of the Downtown Disney entertainment district.

Visitors traveling from Orlando can take Exit 67, marked with signs indicating the way to Epcot and Disney Springs. Midway through that ramp, a new spur on the right-hand side leads into the 4,000-slot parking garage. It also has Disney Springs signage.

The new road flies over Buena Vista Drive and is designed to alleviate some traffic on that street, which fronts Disney Springs. Drivers can still choose to take Exit 67 onto Epcot Center Drive, then take the next right to access Buena Vista Drive.

Construction work continues on Disney Springs. An additional parking lot for 2,000 vehicles is expected to be complete next year, along with more retail outlets and restaurants.
