Three new specialty stores coming to Disney Springs

Three new stores are on the verge of opening at Disney Springs, the shopping and entertainment district at Walt Disney World. They are geared to pet owners, art lovers and greeting-card enthusiasts.

In the former home of Little Miss Matched will be The Art of Disney Presents Greg McCullough, which will be open for a limited time. The painter will appear in the gallery daily (with the exception of Mondays) from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., starting Nov. 3. Shoppers may see McCullough painting and have an opportunity to have artwork signed. There will be original pieces and prints available for sale alongside his Disney Remnants and Abstract Remnants Collections, which are made of recycled, unused oil paint.

This shop is scheduled to remain open through Jan. 1.

Two others stores — Disney Tails and Lovepop — are opening in the Marketplace Co-op, which houses multiple boutique-style establishments under one roof.

Disney Tails will sell themed costumes for dogs (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Haunted Mansion, Star Wars styles) and other Disney-centric accessories in the form of bandannas, leashes and collars. This store opens Oct. 12.

Lovepop, set to open later this month, features 3-D sculptured cards that are assembled by hand. The Boston-based firm has been in licensing partnerships with “Game of Thrones,” the Beatles and “Jurassic World.” Its website also shows off a “Star Wars” collection that includes a card titled “Death Star Showdown.”

Also on the Marketplace end of the complex, Disney says that the refurbishment of the Basin store is nearly complete. The remodeling of the complex’s gigantic World of Disney store is a work in progress that has been advertised to be completed this fall.
