Disney adds ferryboat event with desserts, drinks

Walt Disney World is introducing a ferryboat event that includes the Magic Kingdom's "Wishes" fireworks, desserts and alcoholic beverages.

Ferrytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise kicks off Oct. 5, according to Disney World's website. The trip features  themed sweets such as The Grand key lime tart, Polynesian de-constructed pineapple upside-down cake, Contemporary "traditional with a twist" spice flourless chocolate cake, all representing Disney resorts located on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Also onboard: specialty alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in glow glasses.

The events take place on one of the famed Disney ferryboats that carry passengers from the Ticket & Transportation Center to the Magic Kingdom theme park. The cruise will sail from the TTC side. The soundtrack for the pyrotechniques will be broadcast aboard the cruise.

On select nights, the fireworks presentation will be Happy HalloWishes (tied to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) or Holiday Wishes (tied to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party).

Ferrytale Cruises are limited to 150 passengers apiece. Tickets are $99 ($69 for ages 3-9), and reservations are encouraged.
