When going to any table service restaurant at Walt Disney World, you truly cannot go wrong. All of them are high quality options, with great service and very good food. While I have not been to every eatery at Walt Disney World, I have been to most of the really good ones and the list below are some ideas that you can borrow when making reservations on your next vacation to Disney.
A must do for everyone is Whispering Canyon Cafe, located in the Fort Wilderness Lodge. The Whispering Canyon Café provides each mountaineer who travels there an All –You-care-to-Enjoy Platter with your choice of Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork, Roasted Chicken, Oak roasted Beef Strip Loin, and Western Style sausage. The Platter also comes with farm fresh vegetables, mashed Yukon Potatoes, Corn on the Cobb, and cowboy Style Baked Beans. The dining atmosphere is Whispering Canyon Café is also another fun aspect. The cast members who wait on you will get you into the spirit of the Wilderness by playing games if ask for ketchup, ask for seconds, or ask for a big ‘ol drink. There’s also penalties for being a poor sport. It is a real good humored environment and I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone.
The next great restaurant that everyone must try at Walt Disney World is the Grand Floridian Café. The Grand Floridian Café, located inside the Grand Floridian Hotel serves a delicious steak and has first class service. The Char Crusted New York Strip Steak comes with herb roasted potatoes, broccolini, and a tomato-laced Béarnaise sauce. The steak is cooked to order and the seasoning is very good. The Grilled Pork Chop comes with Wild Mushroom and Goat cheese spoon bread with a seasonal vegetable and apple brandy sauce. It also is a very good choice. The atmosphere at the Grand Floridian Is well worth the break from the parks for an hour or two and also has a lot of great sites within. The grounds are well kept, and if you happen to be there during the Christmas season you can buy gifts at the Gingerbread house display located near the Café.
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is the next eatery I will talk about and it is located inside Disney Hollywood Studios. Once you walk in the building you are greeted with incredible smells from the pizza oven. The Seafood Arrabbiata is my recommendation. It comes with Shrimp, Mussels, Calamari, Fish of the Day, and Whole Wheat Spaghetti tossed with spicy seafood sauce.
When in Epcot, don’t forget to hit Teppan Edo. Teppan Edo is one of the best hibachi grills I have been to. The cooks are entertaining, funny, and skilled at what they do. The restaurant is located in World Showcase and guest have the option of Steak, Shrimp, chicken, and mixed plates of Japanese Hibachi. The dinner is served with freshly cooked noodles on the flat top and rice. The Japanese deserts are also tasty.
The last restaurant that I would recommend to anyone on the dining plan at Disney World is going to be Tony’s Town Square Restaurant located in Magic Kingdom. The service at Tony’s town square is exceptional and the food just as good. The dinner menu serves a New York Strip Steak with Tony’s Potatoes and vegetables. It’s a great place to cool down in Magic Kingdom.
There are dozens of great restaurants at Disney World and this article is simply personal recommendations if you happen to be on the Disney Dining plan or on grounds looking for a place to eat. All Dining plan table service meals come with salad, entrée, and dessert. Don’t’ forget to book reservations 180 days out from your vacation to ensure that you can get a table.
